CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING IN APPLICATION OF QUANTITATIVE METHOD

Sometimes, teachers were bored with their teaching’s way in a class. Not only teachers but also students felt it. I think, it’s a dangerous small symptom, why ????, Student’s bored make learning in class become uneffective and not interesting. It’s effect in “Unenjoyment Of Learning Mathematics”. How to overcome it ?, …….don’t worry, there’s a way to make pupils enjoy to learn Mathematics. Even, this method is suitable for presenting quantitative data and many things which related with simply amount of data like counting vehicles in the streets by grouping kinds of vehicles and describe it in graphics
Counting vehicles in the street and grouping them are simply example to practice statistic theory. Steps are going to explained below :

1. Teacher determine time of doing his plans and how many students will join with his/her idea ???.
2. Determine appropriate place to realize student’s learning, it can be done according to the mathematic lesson schedule in school or outschedule depend on the teacher. For example, students are consorted a teacher to control the way of learning to observe and make a note about counting vehicles.
3. Make some group which consist of 4-5 students. Each of group has work to collect a number of data about vehicles which through in a street during a certain time (to be limited). There’s work division for each person in a group that is one student count one kind of vehicle and the set aside can assist other.
4. After students get a number of data, they have to make a report ( each group) which represent it by grouping kinds of vehicle. Data represent quantitative method that has parameters like mean, median, modus, standar deviation, quartile, percentile, rank, variance, and plot a data by make graphic, chart or table.
5. The final step is submit their final report to the teacher.

This Contextual Teaching is same like MATHEMATICS FUN, which students can practice their theory directly anywhere anytime they like.
